A dynamic voice for Madison's 16th District Alder
Together we can shape an incredible future for our East Side
Together we can shape an incredible future for our East Side
For over 20 years I've used my communication skills to help grow a variety of businesses and organizations. I believe in a very simple strategy: listen first, and then solve the problem. It's something I learned firsthand coming from an incredible family of public school teachers and nurses, They've always been my inspiration, and I deeply admire their dedication to public and community service.
I'm driven to help Madison build on its extraordinary journey as the best city in the Midwest and a national symbol of success. And I know that can be done in an equitable and inclusive way. Madison can both embrace and support economic development while also strengthening the quality of life for every single citizen. But we have to communicate openly and honestly with each other, and we have to be respectful of all ideas. Let's get to work together.
My wife Heather and I moved to Madison's Glendale neighborhood in June of 2019 after 20 years on the north side of Chicago. I grew up in Peoria, Illinois. And while those wonderful places shaped who I am, we were ready for a new adventure. We explored Wisconsin on the weekends but could never get enough of the natural beauty, the amazing towns and cities and of course the wonderful people. So we decided to stop visiting and make it our permanent home! We chose to come here, and it's the best decision we've ever made. And that's Ruby - she's amazing at fetch.
I believe strongly in an old mantra: we are the ones we've been waiting for. I've organized for Obama for America, stood in solidarity with 250,000 of my closest friends at the Women's March in January 2017 and recently served as an election official at Glendale Elementary in the historic November election.
Now I'm working hard to earn an opportunity to represent the 16th on the Common Council. It's our community together, and we need to focus on policies that support every Madisonian - especially in times of great need.
Following 20 plus years in communications and public relations for both public and private organizations, I joined forces with an old friend to build a new company - Tiny Mighty Communications. It's been an incredible experience and we're growing fast! But in my free time, I like to be outside exploring our amazing state. From the Apostles to the Driftless and everywhere in between, you'll find me camping, biking, hiking or snowshoeing. And when the pandemic ends...you'll find me at ANY live music venue!
